So I woke up yesterday morning to a cop car in my driveway. The dogs started barking...I didn't even hear them knock. Then I peak out my window to see a Colleyville copcar sitting in my driveway. I yell to Ashley who is in the shower that the police are here and of course her question was WHY? I started getting really nervous....like maybe I hadn't payed a ticket or something, or a member of my family had passed away.

I go ahead and open the door and the police woman says, "Are you the owner of this house?" I said yes, and she goes on to explain that apparently the night before a couple of kids got a little too roudy on Hall Johnson and took a baseball bat to every mailbox on Hall Johnson. She took my name and birthday and phone number and said to call this number in a week and that my home insurance should pay for the damages. She also asked me how much it would cost to replace and I said, "I don't know I've never bought a mailbox.... 50 bucks???" Where do you even buy mailboxes... Home Depot?

So now my mailman can barely fit our mail into our mailbox until I can find a new one. Ours actually isn't as bad as the others...some of the others have like a baseball bat hole through them. Stupid teenagers.

RIP TOSHIBA. (2002 - 2008)

The end of an era.... my television finally broke! I bought my baby when I moved into my first apartment in 2002. It was my first major purchase. TOSHIBA HD 42" projection television. Lasting 6 years isn't too bad, but still I wish it would have lasted a lot longer.

I found a guy on craigslist to come and take a look at it for me. I called 4 other guys and he sounded like he knew what he was talking about, plus he was the cheapest. It was going to be $280 for parts and labor. After working on it for more than two hours he found that there was more that was wrong with it, and the parts were going to cost more than $500. I would rather put that money into a new television than into an old one and then something else go wrong with it.

We had some good times. First television I played HALO on. All the movie parties we had...

Gonna try to sell it on craigslist, and then going to try and find a plasma on craigslist...wish me luck.

Behold...I give you MUXTAPE. So I recently read over at adamblue.net of a cool new website called muxtape. Basically you can upload 12 of your favorite songs and have a profile that displays them on your page. I have no idea what the "mux" stands for...maybe it's a typo? Apparently it was originally created by one of the guys who works for connectedventures. They run some of the coolest websites on the internets like bustedtees.com or collegehumor.com...

From doing some research it looked as though he originally created the website for himself just as a way to upload his favorite songs and listen to them in a easy GUI webpage. Then he thought...this would be a cool social networking site and a way for people to discover new unheard music. Bringing the mixtape back from the 80's!

I literally LOL'd when I saw the third comment on this picture when I logged into facebook tonight. I love witty comments. If you don't understand the subtle humor to this comment you need to start watching Metalocalypse on Adult Swim.

So I'm going overboard with the Shozu app as you can see...I take 2-3 pictures everday of random things. It's also a great way to remember stuff from certain days....not sure when that would come in handy...but its addicting.

So I think the reason that I don't blog that often is because I'm never happy with my templates...but that all changes now. I started from scratch...found some new cool tricks and gadgets and implemented them into this blog.

The pictures to the right are from my flickr account and are automatically uploaded on this blog as soon as I take a picture from my camera phone. This is all thanks to a handy little app from shozu. I downloaded the application to my phone and now anytime I take a picture a box pops up and asks if I want to send to itsadam.com, which is then sent directly to my flickr account, visa visa.....herego....is shown here to the right instantaneously.

P.S. - Click on my face. Every time the page a loads a different emotion should show up. Leave a comment let me know what you think...

Another day, another template change. It's 130am and I just put the finishing touches on the main page...I haven't even touched the other links to the left yet...but it will be a one step at a time process. Check back soon for updates...as I plan to finish it this week.

We went and saw Untraceable tonight. Let's just say it's not up for an Oscar... I would compare it to the Saw quadrilogy. Basically one man is telling people to tune their internets to a certain website http://www.killwithme.com/ He kidnaps people and then puts them on the internets with slow torture methods. The more people who visit the website, the faster the poor guy dies....very gross. The best part was that the people who were watching on the website could chat with the killer...and you saw people using internet slang like "lolz" and "omg you killed that guy!"

Some recent movies I've seen that you need to fit in: The Eye, There Will Be Blood, & No Country For Old Men

So Thanksgiving was fun. We ended up having a tri-thanksgiving. Since both ashley's and my parents are divorced we had to have three separate celebrations. We went to her dads on Thanksgiving, we had her mom's side of the family at our house the next Friday (our second time to have TGIVING at the casa), and we had my moms thanksgiving in Walnut Springs the next weekend.

We also just got back from a trip to Cancun, Mexico. We stayed at the Westin Hotel. We always stay in a Westing wherever we go (New York, San Antonio, Cancun) This was the worst Westin yet. The floor was made of tile (i'm guessing because they don't want people coming in wet from the beach and making the carpet moldy? But they have carpet in the hallways??? The walls were superthin. And the service was crappy. Despite these things...we had fun in the ocean, visiting Chichen Itza, and doing some bargain shopping at the local flea market.

I saw an amazing movie over the weekend. A full review will come on the next post tomorrow!

Mmmmmm.....The Simpson's Movie. We went and saw this movie opening night Friday night amongst all the teenagers who felt the need to repeat every funny line out loud so they could express the fact that they got the subtle humor that lies underneath all Simpson's jokes. The movie itself was actually very funny. Some of the funniest parts were from the previews...but I still laughed at them anyway. I never understood why it took them so long to come out with a Simpson's Movie...I stopped watching the new episodes a while back...but never miss an opportunity to watch some of the classics that they replay over and over again. My favorites have to be back when Conan O'Brien was writing for them...his humor is so different and out there that you can literally tell a Conan episode from the rest. Back to the movie...this movie keeps you entertained throughout...there isn't a moment that your not sitting around waiting for the plot to emerge. It's literally like watching a 30 minute episode...but for an hour and 1/2. Don't forget to stay till the end of the credits for a special bonus...

Schillerscale = 7/10.

The Rocket Summer's new cd "Do You Feel" was released today. I was counting the minutes until 5 (when I got off work) today so I could go up to Virgin and buy my copy. I ended up buying two...just in case. I actually never buy CD's...the last CD that I bought was their last album which came out last year. If you've never heard of The Rocket Summer (TRS)... go to their myspace or website and check them out. The lead singer is Bryce Avary...and he's basically a one man band. He writes, sings, and performs all the instruments on each album. The enitre album has been streaming on his myspace profile for the past few days...I wanted to listen so bad, but I resisted...there's just something so different about waiting until you unwrap the plastic from a cd and peel off the annoying tape, pop the cd into your player and jam. What makes any band for me is any form of harmonizing...is that a word? Bryce does an amazing job bringing the vocals and the kick ace piano chords together to form an album that makes you happy everytime you listen to it. You could be having a pretty crappy day...just pop the cd in...and your toe will start tapping and it just puts you in a good mood. (for me anyways) What's really impressive is just this paragraph inside the cd sleeve "Vocals, drums, piano, guitars, bass, percussion, moog synthesizers, organ, wurlitzer and harmonica performed by Bryce Avary"

So this is the new site... I know what your thinking. Why did you call your site it'sadam.com? For one very simple reason...basically for my own amusement... when someone asks me what the web address is for it...I can simply answer... "it's adam dot com"....I created the name for the pure curiosity to see if anyone will actually think that I was lucky enough to get the domain name "adam.com"

I will use this area mainly for reviewing movies, since I see one or two a week. But this will also be a place to share funny movies, pictures, or websites. Let me know what you think of the design, it will probably change frequently...i get tired of things easily.
